APPOINTMENT OF VALUATION TRIBUNAL SERVICE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
The Board of the Valuation Tribunal Service is pleased to announce the appointment of Amelia Wright as the Valuation Tribunal Service’s CEO.
During over 20 years in the public sector Amelia has held leadership roles at the Ministry of Justice, the Home Office, and the Financial Ombudsman. In her most recent appointment as Executive Director of the Judicial College, she led the development and launch of the Judicial College’s Strategy 2021-25, implementing significant organisational and digital transformation. Prior to that, Amelia held a range leadership roles including in the areas of legal sector regulation, consumer policy, asylum, and immigration and offender management.
In announcing the appointment, Suzanne McCarthy, Valuation Tribunal Service Chair, said “I am delighted that Amelia has accepted this appointment. I am certain that her extensive policy and operational experience will be of undoubted benefit to the Valuation Tribunal Service.”
Amelia Wright, in accepting the appointment, said “I’m thrilled to be joining the Valuation Tribunal Service as its new Chief Executive. I have been impressed by Valuation Tribunal Service’s strong sense of purpose and commitment to supporting the Valuation Tribunal for England and improving the experience for appellants, including through digital innovation. I am excited to be taking on this role and leading the VTS as it continues to provide excellent service to council tax and business rates appellants.”
Amelia will take up her role on the 15th June 2026.
